The focus is on applying project techniques as a team member. If you have some management responsibility for project planning and delivery, compare the Diploma pathway.

What Assessment Only means: use your relevant knowledge and experience to proceed directly to practical assessments, without fundamentals classes. You complete written questions, case study tasks and an Action Learning Project, with online resources and assessor support.

Is Assessment Only right for you?

Role fit: you have experience and/or a role contributing as a project team member. You need relevant project knowledge and experience to proceed to assessment without fundamentals training.

There are no formal qualification prerequisites. TechKnowledgey® also requires you to:

have completed Year 12 or equivalent and be over 18;
have suitable language, literacy and numeracy skills;
be able to complete the assessments independently or with the support we can provide.

For workplace projects, we will help confirm suitable resources, a Workplace Project Mentor and your employer’s support. If you do not have access to a suitable workplace, discuss completing assessments in our simulated workplace with mentoring support.

Can I get credit for my prior studies?

Yes, you can — in a couple of ways:

You can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). We will help step you through the process of gathering your portfolio of evidence. Please note that RPL involves additional costs.
If you have evidence of completing any of the Units of Competency, you can apply for Credit Transfer. This process is free of charge, but requires a ‘like for like’ comparison of Units.
Note that our Assessment Only Pathway is in itself a highly-efficient form of RPL.

How long will it take to complete my qualification?

On enrolment, you will be provided with access to TechKnowledgey’s® Learning Management System (LMS).
You can commence your assessments immediately — at whatever time of day works best for you.
You can complete your assessments at any stage during your enrolment — allowing ample time to manage this workload alongside your day-to-day commitments.
The enrolment period is 6 months — but you can finish quicker if you wish.

What is the Action Learning Project?

This is a workplace-based project, which you develop and report on for each Unit.
It reinforces learning through practice.
The project can be work you are currently completing in your role (or have completed recently). Or, it can be something new, which you develop to add value to your organisation.
It is carefully guided through reference materials and templates hosed on our Learning Management System (LMS).
The Action Learning Project is also supported through your Workplace Project Mentor (WPM), who will observe your work and field your questions.

You can also work in a team if you choose — to spread the workload, share the learning, and encourage each other along the way!

What resources will I require?

All your learning and assessment materials are hosted on TechKnowledgey’s® Learning Management System (LMS).

You will just need to have access to:

A desktop computer, laptop or tablet to complete your assessments.
A reliable internet connection and browser. (Google Chrome recommended.)
A scanner and/ or Adobe Acrobat, to secure sign-off on documents for submission.
Workplace project management documentation, including policies and procedures.
